The Hindi-dubbed version of Allu Arjun’s Pushpa 2: The Rule has become the first-ever film to collect more than Rs 700 crore at the Indian box office with revenue generated from shows in Hindi language alone, the makers announced on Tuesday.

A.R. Murugadoss’ 2008 blockbuster Ghajini, starring Aamir Khan, became the first Hindi film to cross the Rs-100 crore mark at the Indian box office. In 2010, Aamir Khan's 3 Idiots emerged as the first Hindi film to cross the Rs 200-crore milestone at the domestic box office. Aamir’s 2014 hit PK set the benchmark for the Rs 300-crore club in India. The dubbed version of S.S. Rajamouli’s 2017 blockbuster Baahubali 2: The Conclusion made it to the Rs 400-crore and Rs 500-crore clubs. Amar Kaushik's horror-comedy Stree 2 became the first Hindi film to surpass Rs 600 crore at the box office in 2024.
Directed by Sukumar, Pushpa 2 had a sensational start at the box office, amassing Rs 725.8 crore nett in all languages in its opening week. The film maintained robust growth in its second week, earning Rs 264.8 crore nett. Even in its third week, the movie is displaying extraordinary consistency. On its third weekend, Pushpa 2 raked in Rs 14.3 crore nett on Friday, followed by Rs 24.75 crore nett on Saturday, and a massive Rs 33.25 crore nett on Sunday. With an additional Rs 13 crore nett on Monday, the domestic collection of Pushpa 2 now stands at Rs 1,075.6 crore nett.
Apart from the Rs 704.25 crore nett from the Hindi version, the Telugu version of Pushpa 2 contributed Rs 309.7 crore nett to the earnings. The Tamil, Kannada and Malayalam versions raked in Rs 54.3 crore nett, Rs 7.4 crore nett and Rs 14.05 crore nett, respectively.
Pushpa 2 picks up the story where Pushpa: The Rise left off, following red sandalwood smuggler Pushpa Raj (Allu Arjun) as he expands his business. The film stars Rashmika Mandanna, Fahadh Faasil, Jagapathi Babu and Rao Ramesh in pivotal roles.
