Headlined by Lily James and Shazad Latif, What's Love Got To Do With It released in theatres across the UK on February 24. The movie hit cinemas in India on March 17. The story revolves around Zoe (Lily), an acclaimed documentary filmmaker who is looking for the love of her life but is tired of meeting a string of unsuitable matches selected for her by a dating app. Meanwhile, her childhood friend and neighbour, Kaz (Shazad), decides to follow his parents' footsteps and pursue an arranged marriage with a girl from Pakistan. While documenting Kaz's optimistic quest to wed a stranger, Zoe starts contemplating whether there's valuable wisdom to be gained from embracing a remarkably contrasting approach to discovering true love.

Kapur, a globally renowned director, has made movies like Mr. India (1987) and Bandit Queen (1994) that have achieved cult status among audiences. Elizabeth (1998) and its sequel Elizabeth: The Golden Age (2007), both helmed by Kapur, went on to win Oscars. There is also news that the veteran filmmaker might be working on a sequel to his 1983 debut film Masoom and it could be titled Masoom... The New Generation.
