As Jawan storms into theatres today, you can not only watch the much-awaited film, but also make the SRK biggie a part of your ensemble. Members of The King’s Club, an association of Shah Rukh Khan fans, have come up with a range of accessories themed on his latest release. Pendants, earrings, finger rings and bags — everything bears SRK in his various looks revealed so far in the posters and trailer of the film. And there is a special poster created too which will be the centrepiece at the club’s celebrations on today.

“One of our members, a designer, has created these accessories out of resin. We have big plans for the first day of Jawan release. Our female members will wear the accessories and we will cut a cake in front of the Jawan poster, which is made out of resin as well,” said Arnab Roy, secretary of The King’s Club.

The poster, he said, had been planned in anticipation of King Khan’s visit to Calcutta. “We thought this would be our gift to him. But it seems he is not going anywhere for promotions after returning from Dubai,” added Roy.

The epoxy resin poster took the designer, Ankita Koley, 10 days to create, with two hours devoted to the project daily. “I have used stones of various shapes and radium along the border of the poster. These will glow in the dark,” said Ankita, adding that she wanted to create something unique.

The pendants too required two days to make. “It takes resin 15 to 20 hours to dry unless one invests in a costlier quick-drying version, which I do not use as I want to keep my creations within the means of the common fan,” says the 35-year-old who started her experiments with resin during the lockdown.

The earrings and pendants feature five of Shah Rukh’s looks in the film. “I think the bandaged and masked look will be the craze. He has never been seen like this before,” smiled Ankita, who is also putting up the range on her brand Crafty Mania’s Facebook page for sale, with a matching pendant and earrings combination priced at Rs 750. A lavender bag, with a picture of Shah Rukh in a red shirt, has been priced Rs 850.

The club has celebrations planned at three movie halls in different parts of the city, where its members will watch the film in groups. But Ankita is still praying for a last-minute miraculous visit so she can hand over her creations to her favourite star in person.

Roy points out that their last creative venture, dresses and earrings with the logo of Khan’s IPL team Kolkata Knight Riders, had been worn by Rituparna Sengupta and Usha Uthup, both regular invitees to the Bollywood Badshah’s Eden Gardens box. “The creations were also appreciated by SRK’s team when we handed them over. This time, if he does not come for Jawan, we will carry the set when we travel to Mumbai for his birthday in November,” he said.
