Ananya Panday’s younger sister Rysa Panday was the sole debutante from India at Le Bal des Débutantes 2024 held in Paris on November 30.
The annual event was attended by several other personalities, including actress-entrepreneur Gwyneth Paltrow and Coldplay frontman Chris Martin’s daughter Apple Martin. Lucia-Sofia Ponti, the lookalike granddaughter of Italian actress Sophia Loren, was also present.
Rysa was accompanied by her parents, Bhavana Pandey and Chunky Panday, at the annual international ball, which honours one or more charitable organisations each year.
One of the pictures, shared by Bhavana on social media on Monday, shows Rysa and her dad teaming up on the dance floor. The 20-year-old dazzled in an exquisite gown from the shelves of the Lebanese designer Elie Saab at the event held at the Shangri-La Hotel in Paris. It benefitted two causes — the Association of Cardiology Research from Fetus to Adults (ARCFA) and the Maria Fareri Children’s Hospital in New York’s Hudson Valley.
Reminiscent of the Victorian era, the off-shoulder gown featured floral embroidery, a corset-fit bodice and a voluminous skirt. The debutante wore her hair down and opted for luminous makeup to complete her look.
Rysa kept her accessories minimal, adding a touch of understated sophistication to her look.
The Elie Saab gown also featured a floor-sweeping train.
Le Bal Des Débutantes was inaugurated in 1958 with around 50 debutantes. However, the ball came to a halt in 1968 due to a workers’ uprising in Paris that year. It was not revived till 1992. Since then, the annual event has expanded globally and has become known for its stunning displays of high-end fashion.
