A trained Bharatnatyam dancer, Preity made her acting debut with Sree Harsha Konuganti’s Telugu-language horror comedy film Om Bheem Bush in March this year. The film starred her alongside Sree Vishnu, Priyadarshi, Rahul Ramakrishna, Srikanth Iyengar and Ayesha Khan in the lead roles.
In May, the 23-year-old appeared in Elan’s Tamil-language coming-of-age romantic drama Star, which features Kavin Raj in the lead role. Jointly produced by B. V. S. N. Prasad and Sreenidhi Sagar under the banners of Sri Venkateswara Cine Chitra and Rise East Entertainment, Star also features Lal, Aaditi Pohankar and Geetha Kailasam.
Preity was a part of Sai Abhyankkar and Sai Smriti’s music video Aasa Kooda. Sathyan Ilanko serves as the lyricist of the song released in June.
Preity later featured in Malaysian rapper Yogi B and Indian playback singer Sivaangi Krishnakumar’s track Muttu Mu2. Dropped in September, the music video also features Asuran actor Teejay Arunasalam.
The actress is currently working on Mukesh Kumar Singh’s Telugu-language Hindu mythological drama Kannappa, slated to hit theatres in April next year. Produced by Mohan Babu, the film is based on the legend of Kannappa, a devotee of Hindu god Shiva and stars Vishnu Manchu in the titular role. The film is expected to mark Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar’s Telugu cinema debut.
Mohan Babu, R. Sarathkumar, Arpit Ranka, Kaushal Manda, Rahul Madhav, Devaraj, Mukesh Rishi, Brahmanandam, Raghu Babu and Madhoo round off the cast of Kannappa, with cameo appearances by Mohanlal, Prabhas and Kajal Aggarwal.
Preity took to Instagram to share pictures from the film’s teaser launch. The photos feature her in a pink-and-yellow embellished lehenga. The actress wore her hair down and opted for kohl-rimmed eyes, nude lips, dangler earrings and a pink bindi to complete her stunning look.
Preity also has Faizal Faziludeen’s upcoming directorial Maine Pyar Kiya in the pipeline. Produced by Sanju Unnithan, the movie is billed as a romantic drama in which “love meets suspense”.
The actress recently dropped pictures with Badshah and Sharvi Yadav from Morni’s launch event. Expressing gratitude to the musicians for the opportunity, Preity wrote, “@badboyshah you’ve been nothing but humble and warm to me and I truly appreciate the way you respect your art and everybody around you. @sharviyadav you’re a powerhouse of talent and I know and hope you’ll go places, my girl.” The actress also thanked the audience for showering their project with unbridled love. Released under the banner of Saregama Music, the track has already surpassed 41 million views on YouTube.
A glance through Preity’s profile makes it evident that she enjoys not only fashion and dance but also travelling. The actress has also shared reels which feature her dancing to the beats of Morni and behind-the-scenes clips from the sets of Maine Pyar Kiya.
