BTS member Kim Taehyung, also known as V, shared the heartbreaking news of his pet dog Yeontan’s passing on social media on Monday, leaving fans devastated. Yeontan, affectionately called Tannie, was an eight-year-old pomeranian who frequently appeared in V’s social media posts and live videos over the years. V’s adorable furry companion quickly became an internet sensation, earning a devoted fanbase of his own and creating a special bond with BTS fans, also called the ARMY.
Yeontan has even made special appearances in various live videos of BTS and shared a special bond with other members of the band —Jin, Suga, RM, J-Hope, Jimin and Jungkook. Here’s a look at some special moments V and Yeontan shared over the years.
V first introduced Yeontan in the live video of his bandmate Jin’s birthday in 2017. Over the years, Yeonta often featured in V’s social media posts.
The singer took out time to cuddle with Yeontan in between his busy schedule.
The Singularity artist would often engage Yeontan in various fun activities and share those playful moments with their fans.
During a promotional interview back in 2023, V revealed that Yeontan was suffering from a heart condition and had even undergone two unsuccessful heart surgeries. Despite this, Yeontan continued to survive with his resilience and will to live.
The 28-year-old singer, who was enlisted for his compulsory military services in December 2023, visited his beloved pet whenever he got a chance.
Yeontan even made appearances in the music videos of the singer. He first made a short cameo appearance in V’s 2019 single Winter Bear. In 2023, Yeontan appeared in the album cover of V’s Layover. However, due to his health issues, Yeontan couldn’t fly to Madrid to shoot for the music video Rainy Days.
