Ayushmann Khurrana unveiled the teaser of his upcoming film Dream Girl 2, a sequel to the 2019 film Dream Girl, on the eve of Valentine’s Day. And this time, Ayushman is not only talking in the voice of a woman but is also dressed as one.

The one-minute-long clip begins with Ayushmann’s Pooja receiving a call on Valentine’s Day from Pathaan, giving rise to speculation about Shah Rukh Khan playing a cameo in Dream Girl 2. Even though a shimmery lehenga-clad Pooja doesn’t face the camera in the teaser, it is evident that Ayushmann is playing the character in the film.

She continues to talk to him while applying makeup. The Shah Rukh-like voice on the phone says his “Jawan” is releasing, and asks her when she would be coming. And she replies that she’ll come on July 7 — the release date of Dream Girl 2.

Sharing the teaser on Monday late evening, Ayushmann wrote on Instagram, “BREAKING NEWS: @pooja___dreamgirl is back! #7KoSaathMein dekhenge! 😜 #DreamGirl2 releasing in cinemas on 7th July, 2023.”

Several fans commented on the YouTube video, speculating a cameo by Shah Rukh in the film. The actor recently broke numerous box-office records with his spy action-thriller film Pathaan.

Directed by Raaj Shaandilya, Dream Girl 2 also stars Ananya Panday, Annu Kapoor, Paresh Rawal, Manoj Joshi, Vijay Raaz, Seema Pahwa, Rajpal Yadav, Govardhan Asrani, Abhishek Banerjee, Manjot Singh, Manoj Joshi, Sudesh Lehri and Anusha Mishra.

It is the sequel to Shaandilya’s 2019 comedy film Dream Girl, which starred Ayushmann Khurrana as a hotline caller who changed his voice to a girl’s voice and went by the name of Pooja.

The upcoming film is produced by Ektaa R Kapoor and Shobha Kapoor under the banner of Balaji Motion Pictures.
