Netflix India has dropped a cryptic video featuring Kartik Aaryan, hinting at the release of Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 on the streamer on December 27.

“TUDUM: @TheAaryanKartik has an X-mas surprise for you! Coming soon🎄,” Netflix wrote on X alongside the video.

The video shows Kartik running around in a room and colliding with a glass door, making Netflix’s “tudum” sound. This scene is reminiscent of a sequence from Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 where Sanjay Mishra, Rajpal Yadav and Ashwini Kalsekar crash into a glass door.

Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 follows the adventures of Rooh Baba (Kartik Aaryan), who stumbles upon a haunted mansion near Kolkata. There he confronts the spirit of Manjulika, leading to a series of spooky yet comedic encounters. The ensemble cast also features Vidya Balan, Madhuri Dixit, Triptii Dimri and Vijay Raaz.

Helmed by Anees Bazmee and produced by Bhushan Kumar-led T-Series, Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 released in theatres on November 1, competing against Rohit Shetty’s cop universe film Singham Again. The Ajay Devgn-starrer remained slightly ahead of Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 at the box office in the first week.

The first instalment of the horror-comedy franchise, released in 2007, focused on Avni Chaturvedi (Vidya Balan), a woman grappling with dissociative identity disorder. The movie also starred Akshay Kumar, Shiney Ahuja, Ameesha Patel and Paresh Rawal.

Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 revolved around an entrapped spirit seeking revenge. The film emerged as one of the highest-grossing hits of 2022 with a collection of Rs 266.88 crore.

Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3, on the other hand, collected Rs 281.56 crore nett at the domestic box office and Rs 421.22 crore globally.
