Bollywood actress Ayesha Takia has hit back at trolls after her first public appearance in years led to a barrage of insensitive comments and body-shaming on social media.

The actress, who was photographed at Mumbai airport by paparazzi, took to Instagram to address the negative comments regarding her appearance. Ayesha explained that the pictures were taken as she was rushing to Goa due to a family medical emergency. She clarified that she stopped for a few seconds to pose for the paparazzi before catching her flight.

In a strongly-worded note, Ayesha slammed the trolls who criticised her looks and speculated about cosmetic procedures. She expressed frustration over the focus on her appearance, stating, “Turns out there are no other important issues in the country except dissecting my looks… Literally get over me yaar, I have zero interest in doing any films or any comeback like people are saying.”

Ayesha Takia emphasised that she is content with her life away from the limelight and has no intention of returning to the film industry. “I’m living my life happily, never want to be in the limelight, not interested in any fame, don’t wanna be in any film… So chill,” she asserted in her note.

Addressing the unrealistic expectations placed on her, Ayesha said, “Expecting a girl who's mostly been seen in her teens to look identical even after 15 years… How unrealistic and ridiculous are these people… Lol.”

The actress shared the note on Instagram page along with a caption thanking her followers and well-wishers for their support. “You guys have been so awesome, loving, and amazing to me all the time… so thank you …sending you love,” she wrote in her caption.
