Amitabh Bachchan slightly tweaked the hit 1990s Bollywood song Tu Cheez Badi Hai Mast Mast, featuring Akshay Kumar and Raveena Tandon, to thank Twitter CEO Elon Musk on Saturday after the blue tick was restored to his account on the microblogging site.
The 80-year-old actor shared the appreciation post in a dialect of eastern Uttar Pradesh. “T 4624 - ae Musk bhaiyya! Bahut bahut dhanyavaad det hain ham aapaka! Uu, neel kamal lag gava hamaar naam ke aage (T 4624 - Hey Musk brother! I thank you very much! The blue tick has been added in front of my name),” he wrote.
“Ab ka batayi bhaiyya! 😁 gaana gaye ka mann karat hai hamaar! Sanbo ka? Ee leo suna: ‘Tu cheez badee hai musk musk ... too cheez badee hai, musk (What to say now brother! I want to sing a song! Do you want to listen? Listen then: Tu cheez badee hai musk musk ... too cheez badee hai, musk),” he also wrote, having quoted the Bollywood song with a slight twist at the tail.
The original song, Tu Cheez Badi Hai Mast Mast, is from Rajiv Rai’s 1994 film Mohra. The Hindi action thriller film featured Akshay Kumar, Raveena Tandon, Suniel Shetty, Naseeruddin Shah, Gulshan Grover and Paresh Rawal.
After Musk’s takeover of the social media platform, Twitter started adopting a payment model for its verified blue tick to identify authentic famous personalities. Several high-profile users, including Bollywood stars, recently lost their verified blue ticks.
Earlier, on Friday, Amitabh had requested Twitter for restoration of the blue tick. “T 4623 - Hey Twitter brother! Are you listening? Now I even paid...so put back the blue lotus (tick) in front of my name, so that people know that it is Amitabh Bachchan only. I have already made a request with folded hands, now should I fall at your feet?” the veteran actor had posted on his social media account.
Amitabh will next be seen in the courtroom drama film Section 84, helmed by Te3n and The Girl on the Train director Ribhu Dasgupta. The film will also feature Diana Penty, Nimrat Kaur and Abhishek Banerjee in key roles.
