All about Hoichoi's Buker Modhey Agun

The new show tells the story of a ‘90s superstar whose sudden demise shocks the country and raises innumerable questions

The new show Buker Modhey Agun, streaming on Hoichoi now, tells the story of a ‘90s superstar whose sudden demise shocks the country and raises innumerable questions. Despite being ruled as death by suicide, many assume a deeper conspiracy at play. A detective police officer reinvestigates the 20-year-old mysterious death of the superstar and finds that it is a plausible case of murder with multiple suspects. Directed by Taneem Rahman Angshu, the series stars Apurba, Yash Rohan and Tama Mirza.

Talking at the recent Hoichoi Meet 2023, Soumya Mukherjee, chief operating officer, Hoichoi, said: “This time our focus is to present the best kind of content to our audiences. We have always believed in bringing the best talents, both creators and actors, to ensure that quality entertainment reaches its viewers. This year we are announcing eight new originals in Bangladesh, with top creators like Ashfaque Nipun, Tanim Noor, Syed Ahmed Shawki, Faisal Ahmed, Sunny Sanwar amongst others. We’re bringing back popular faces like Mosharraf Karim, FS Nayeem, Azmeri Haque Badhon and Afran Nisho, while also introducing industry favourites like Apurba and Bidya Sinha Saha Mim. We have high hopes for this year and are sure that we’ll be successful in keeping our audiences across the globe entertained.”

Golam Mamun is a 35-year-old deputy commissioner of police who once left the department due to a bitter experience that had shaken his personal and professional life and is brought back as the intriguing case reopens.

FESTIVAL OF COLOURS:

John Batyacharyya and Sanjana Banerjee’s new music video for the song Kanha is grabbing eyeballs. “It was a wonderful experience. We had so much fun. I loved working with the team,” says John. Sanjana refers to this song as the biggest Holi party anthem. Kinjal Chatterjee and Hriti Tikadar have kept the Holi spirit alive through their rendition of Kanha. “The melody of the song is as vibrant as the festival of colours and as playful as Kanha,” says creative director, Jonai Singh. The music video is available on JSE Music’s YT channel.
