ATK Mohun Bagan, who suffered two consecutive defeats, will be keen to buck the trend when they face Chennaiyin FC in an ISL VIII match at the Nehru Stadium in Fatorda on Saturday.

After beginning with a bang, recording thumping wins over Kerala Blasters and arch-rivals SC East Bengal, ATK Mohun Bagan’s form has gone south. Their defending was pathetic against both Mumbai City FC and Jamshedpur FC, conceding seven goals in two matches.

They showed some fighting spirit in the final minutes against Jamshedpur FC that saw Pritam Kotal reducing the margin in the 88th minute.

“We have to start the next match with that similar rhythm that we showed in the final five minutes (against Jamshedpur FC). It’s not all over after losing two matches,” Roy Krishna, one of ATK Mohun Bagan’s three captains, said at the pre-match news conference.

“This time we have to go back to the drawing board. The coach (Antonio Lopez Habas) must work out some other strategy, we have to work harder in training to make that happen,” the Fijian added. “We still have a long way to go.”
