CONMEBOL confirmed Sunday's Copa America final between Argentina and Colombia would be delayed by 45 minutes to ensure only ticket holders enter the stadium.

Several local media outlets have reported that fans were trying to get into the Hard Rock Stadium in Miami without tickets.

A CONMEBOL spokesperson told Reuters that the match would be starting at 8:45 p.m. local time, instead of 8:00 p.m. as originally scheduled.

"We inform that people who do not have tickets will not be able to enter the stadium. Only those who have purchased tickets will be able to enter the stadium once the entrances are reopened," the governing body added on X, formerly Twitter.

CONMEBOL said they had tightened security following the semi-final between Uruguay and Colombia, when Uruguayan players clashed with Colombian fans after the match ended.

They also confirmed that Shakira's half-time show in the final would last 20 minutes. Colombia coach Nestor Lorenzo had said he disagreed with the extended half-time break beyond the usual 15 minutes because it could affect players' fitness.
