Bengal got the better of Meghalaya 4-3 in a Group A match of the Santosh Trophy in Malappuram, Kerala, on Friday. A brace from Mohammed Fardin Ali Molla and Mahitosh Roy ensured Bengal returned to winning ways after the 0-2 loss to Kerala on Monday.

The first goal of the game arrived in the 23rd minute.

Orawn made a brilliant solo run down the left channel before sending a centre which took out two Meghalaya defenders. The Meghalaya defenders must have been expecting Fardin to control the ball. But the 20-year-old took first-time shot and the ball rifled into the net.

The win meant Bengal now have six points from three games and remain in the hunt to make the last-four.

They next face Rajasthan on Sunday.
