If you have a lot of electronic devices at home, it becomes a hassle to handle every remote control. This is where the Zoook Clicker comes in. It’s a universal remote control device which weighs very little. Attached to the Wi-Fi, it can connect different devices in your house to a smartphone app.

How to use it

To use Zoook Clicker (Rs 1,199, Amazon.in), simply plug it to a power source and a blue light begins to blink rapidly. Next, download the Zoook Smart app. This is where there’s a bit of complication. To find the Clicker, add device and visit the ‘other’ tab. Once the Clicker is added, you have to go through the list again to add other devices (that use IR) in the house.

Does it work?

We tried adding an air conditioner, the television and the DVD player. It worked fine. The biggest advantage is that all these devices can be controlled from the app (which also has voice assistance integration). Though it takes time to go through the list and find the devices, the results are fine.

But there are a few disadvantages. The Clicker works best as long as it has good Wi-Fi support and your phone needs to be on the same network. Second, there are devices that are not listed. For example, my old Sonodyne stereo system. Third, not all the functions of a device can be accessed.

What can it do?

After switching it to the correct mode for summer, I can’t find the remote control to my Atomberg fans. With Clicker, both the fans can now be controlled. The TV remote control is getting old and is giving a lot of problem. The Clicker is helping. Same goes for the remote control.

Should you buy it?

If the app is updated and the categories in the app get defined better, it would be easier to make the Clicker work. It does take care of most IR-controlled devices but if you leave the living room or bedroom with your phone, the other family members need to find the remotes again. Zoook Clicker is the all-in-one remote that can only get better.
