OpenAI has launched a store for GPTs, custom chatbot apps powered by its text- and image-generating AI models. Called the GPT Store, you can find it as a tab in the ChatGPT client on the web.
The company, whose popular product ChatGPT has become the face of the boom in AI, already has customised bots through its paid ChatGPT Plus service. The new store will allow users to monetise a broader range of tools. Originally planned to open in November, so far, only those who subscribe to OpenAI’s paid tiers can make and use custom GPTs.
The company has also announced it will start a revenue-sharing programme with GPT creators in the first quarter of the year. Builders will be paid based on user engagement with their chatbots. OpenAI has said that it has established a new review system to ensure custom GPTs meet the brand’s guidelines and usage policies.
Also introduced: ChatGPT Team, a new option for businesses. The smaller version of OpenAI’s Enterprise offering, it is for businesses with fewer than 150 users and cost $25 per user per month paid annually, or $30 per month per user paid monthly. It includes a shared workspace and allows teams to build their own GPTs.
