Back in 2019, The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) had an entire country watching a lunar exploration mission with bated breath. Four years later, we have been drawn by ISRO’s genius yet again, as we watched Chandrayaan-3 undertake India’s third moon mission on a LVM-3 rocket from Satish Dhawan Space Centre, Sriharikota.
India’s second attempt at soft-landing robotic instruments on the lunar surface, this mission would make our country the fourth ever to do so if successful. ISRO uploaded the iconic launch moment on Instagram, and we watched with starry eyes as a billion dreams rocketed away into space, demonstrating the sheer power of human brilliance. We hope the it reaches its destination successfully on August 23.
