Are we getting the
collab of the century or the biggest prank of all? Martin Garrix recently took
to Instagram to share a picture with musician Arijit Singh and we can’t keep
calm. In the caption he writes, “Incredible week thank you @arijitsingh.” We need
more, Garrix!
In a previous podcast,
hosted by Tarsame Mittal, Singh did speak about wanting to collaborate with
Martin Garrix, after which Garrix started following the musician.
While we wait to see
what's in store from these two music geniuses, here are some previous collabs
by Indian and international musicians that stole our hearts:
- Jai Ho - A.R. Rahman and The Pussycat Dolls (featuring Nicole
Scherzinger): This collaboration between the
Indian composer A.R. Rahman and the American pop group The Pussycat Dolls
gave us a fresh take on the Oscar-winning song from the movie Slumdog
Millionaire.
- Jalebi Baby by Tesher and Jason Derulo: Tesher, a Canadian artist of Indian descent, teamed up
with the American singer Jason Derulo to create this catchy track that
blends Indian musical elements with mainstream pop. The song gained
significant popularity and showcases a seamless blend of both cultural
influences.
- BIBA - Marshmello and Pritam featuring Shirley Setia and
Shah Rukh Khan: This collaboration between
Marshmello and Bollywood music composer Pritam features vocals from
Shirley Setia and a special appearance by Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh
Khan in the music video. The song blends EDM with Indian musical elements
