Fried chicken, with a side of important lessons! To mark International Day of Sign Languages on September 23, KFC India transformed its iconic bucket to promote Indian Sign Language (ISL) for a month. The specially designed sign language bucket features step-by-step visual tutorials of commonly used phrases in ISL, promoting among the consumers the basics of communication sign language. Terms such as ‘Hello’, ‘Please’, ‘Good Morning’, ‘How are you’ as well as numbers and sizes are featured on the bucket.
This bucket is a part of the #SpeakSign campaign by KFC India’s Kshamata programme, which is committed towards empowering people with speech and hearing impairment at their outlets. As part of the programme, a menu in ISL is set to be introduced in certain outlets, operated by speech and hearing-impaired employees, to promote inclusivity and encourage customers to use sign when ordering their favourites.
