Ujjayanta Palace, the former royal palace of the Tripura kingdom, will be developed as a weekend destination. The palace in Agartala, which was built in 1862, has housed the state museum since 2013 and is one of Tripura’s main tourist attractions. Eateries would be set up and cultural performances staged on the palace premises to make the destination even more attractive to the tourists.

IndiGo is strengthening its international network by starting codeshare connections to the US via Istanbul. This expansion will provide Indian travellers seamless connections to New York, Boston, Washington and Chicago, starting this month. Turkish Airlines is Indigo’s codeshare partner. The Indian airline has also got the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA)’s permission to operate flights to Nairobi, Kenya. Indigo will start the flight on July 24 this year.

Saudi Arabia has announced instant e-visa for those holding a UK, US or Schengen visa. Such travellers can streamline their entry into Saudi Arabia by applying for an instant e-visa at www.mofa.gov.sa. Visitors holding a US, UK or Schengen visa must have used it at least once to enter the issuing country or region in order to qualify for the Saudi instant e-visa.
Emirates premium economy from India

Emirates will offer premium economy on routes from India, starting this October. The premium economy service would be offered to fliers from Mumbai and Bengaluru. Emirates will operate its new flagship A380 aircraft, featuring premium economy seats and refreshed interiors, from these two cities.

Tiger reserves in Rajasthan will be closed every Wednesday from July 1. The weekly off has been announced on the basis of an order by the National Tiger Conservation Authority. Ranthambore and Sariska are two of the popular tiger reserves in Rajasthan.
