Remember the time when exploring the mirror maze at Science City was the highlight of your summer vacation? Well, if you’re looking to bring out the inner child in you, visit the Hamleys outlet at South City Mall. (And we don’t mean for their collection of toys!)

Hamleys has created a unique one-of-a-kind Mirror Maze for you to explore, which opened to the public in August after the store’s renovation. With reflecting mirrors set up to create an illusion of a never-ending tunnel of rooms, all lit up in various neon colours, this maze is a great place to explore with your friends.

The minute you enter the maze you see the bright lights reflecting off mirrors which creates a kaleidoscopic effect and an almost psychedelic experience.

Once you walk into the maze, you see arched mirrors all around, except one of them is an archway you can pass through. The hall of mirrors is confusing and exciting all at the same time and you’re bound to exclaim or laugh at every turn. Mind your head! Or, you might walk into a mirror!

“The feedback has been great from everyone who has visited the maze, we are hoping for more people to come and experience this,” said Krishna Thakur, Store Manager at Hamleys.

Manoeuvring through the maze is bound to bring out the inner child in you, making it a stop you must visit on your next trip to the south Kolkata mall. The joy of the experience was clearly visible in all those visiting the maze.

“I walked in cynical about what a toy store can offer a grown-up man, and I walked out giggling like a child,” said Shankho Bhattacharjee, a 24 year-old marketing executive.

“Great concept and very well executed. It only takes around three to four minutes end-to-end though, so the maze could have been a little larger!” said Aditya Prasanna Bhattacharya, a lawyer who was visiting the maze with his friends.

Hamleys is like heaven on earth for children of all ages, but the store manager shared that the toys for the age group of three to 10 are most popular. Bubble guns, tabletop foosball and Nerf guns are their most popular along with their AI powered educational toy Miko 3.

One can visit the store and explore the maze. Charges are 150 per person.
