The trailer launch of the film 8/12 was held at BBD Bagh, in front of the statue of Binay, Badal, Dinesh, on December 8. The event commenced with a wreath-laying ceremony.
In 1930, on December 8, Binay, Badal and Dinesh had entered the Writers’ Buildings. Kinjal Nanda plays the role of Binay, Arna Mukherjee plays Badal and Remoo plays Dinesh. Saswata Chatterjee, Kharaj Mukherjee, Shankar Debnath, Devraj Mukherjee, Anushka Chakraborty and Gulshanara Khatun will also be seen in pivotal roles in the film.
Speaking about the release of the trailer, producer Kan Singh Sodha said: “I am proud as an Indian to stand on this stage today and pay my respect to the freedom fighters. These three young men did not think of their personal interests, did not think of their own happiness, only sacrificed their lives to free the country from subjugation and oppression. There is a lot of hard work, a lot of sacrifice involved in the making of this film. We hope that the audience will see their story on the big screen in January.”
Director Arun Roy said: “Our Independence is the result of much struggle and sacrifice made by our brave freedom fighters. Binay, Badal and Dinesh are certainly some of those names who should be remembered with absolute reverence.”
