Actor Gurmeet Choudhary paid Kolkata a surprise visit on Wednesday. The actor is popular for his portrayal of Lord Ram in the television show Ramayana and as the winner of Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa. He made his big-screen debut in the 2015 horror-thriller, Khamoshiyan.

Gurmeet shared pictures from his Kolkata trip on his social media handles. The actor tweeted, “Feeling the flavours of the Kolkata street tea. Generally I am not a tea lover but couldn’t wait. Meet Pintu, a tea stall owner who served me refreshing tea. In the allies of Golpark, Kolkata.”

Gurmeet’s wife, Debina Bonnerjee, hails from Kolkata. One of TV's most well-known couples, they gained a huge following as the Ram-Sita jodi in Ramayana. The show aired from 2006 to 2009 and fans still can’t get enough of their chemistry, especially post their marriage in 2011.

Gurmeet was recently honoured by Bhagat Singh Koshyari, the Governor of Maharashtra, for his philanthropic work during the pandemic.
