Why no mask? ‘No need, Covid is over,’ say men in Kalighat
Men and women continue to defy the mask mandate with a variety of excuses. The Telegraph spoke to some of them

Two men were chatting in Burrabazar and both were without masks. “We are carrying masks with us,” one of them said and took out one from his pocket. “We are waiting for a car,” he said.

A woman walking down a road in Jodhpur Park had her mask on her chin. “I am wearing a mask… I am walking,” she said.
Three men were chatting in Kalighat and none was wearing a mask properly. They believe the Covid pandemic is over. “Why do we need a mask? Covid is over,” said one of them.
A man, woman and a child were walking down Queens Way. The woman was not wearing a mask. “It’s not crowded here and we have come for an outing,” the man said.
A man outside South City Mall was not wearing a mask. “I have it (mask) and I will wear it. They won’t allow me inside without a mask,” he said.
