Metro Railway’s weekend services, allotted only for railway employees and ‘essential service providers‘, will be available for all commuters starting November 20.
“We will run 220 trains every Saturday from Nov-ember 20, instead of 214 staff special trains. The number of trains on Sunday will remain unchanged at 120 but the services will be available for all,” said an official.
The number of weekday trains will also be increased to 272 from 266 from November 15.
From Monday to Saturday, the first trains will leave Dum Dum, New Garia and Dakshineswar at 7am, instead of 7.30am. The timings of the last trains will remain the same.
On Sunday, the first trains will leave Dum Dum, New Garia and Dakshineswar at 10am. The timings of the last trains will be like those for the rest of the week.
