Tension prevailed in Manicktala area on Friday night after the body of a businessman was found inside a factory during the wee hours. The victim has been identified as Amit Ram. He is survived by his wife and two children.
The locals said after hearing frantic screams around 2 am, they dialled 100 and the police rushed to the spot immediately.
But the irreparable damage was done by then.
There were injury marks behind the head and multiple injury marks on the body. It is alleged that there were injury marks on his arm veins too. While the police are probing the incident, Amit’s family feels it is a murder.
The forensic personnel have collected samples from the spot and the body has been sent for autopsy.
Amit Ram was a cloth merchant and had recently started trading in building materials and his family alleges that he was murdered due to business rivalry. The family may file a police complaint soon.
