"Rahul Sarkar, Joakim and Krishna Lal Ray have been arrested on charges of raping one of their colleagues," said a senior officer of Bidhannagar police.

The incident took place inside a rented apartment in the C-block of the housing complex where the four had assembled for a Friday night party, police said.

The police said some of the neighbours had told them that they could hear loud music from the apartment till late Friday night.

The woman is said to have told the police that all of them had consumed liquor at the party and the three men gang-raped her after that.

The owner of the apartment, which has been sealed, hails from Chinsurah, the police said.

He has been summoned to appear for a round of questioning at the police station where the cops will find out the details of the rent agreement and whether the owner had visited the apartment recently or not. The CCTV footage from outside the apartment is being collected as a part of evidence, the police added.

The victim's statement has been recorded and the three accused are being questioned separately to understand what took place during the party inside the apartment, the officer said.

"The three have been speaking differently about the incidents at the party and trying to confuse us," the officer said. "We will seek their custody after producing them before a court on Sunday."
