Police identified the man arrested on Thursday as Mohammad Dilnawaz, alias Raza, 40, of J-506/C Azhar Molla Bagan.

“He has been arrested from Islampur (in North Dinajpur) by the Special Investigation Team in connection with the Garden Reach incident,” said the deputy commissioner of Kolkata Police in charge of the port division, Harikrishna Pai.

Raza has been charged with murder and under other sections of the Indian Penal Code. The charges against him are similar to the ones slapped on the other accused arrested in the case.

Earlier, the police had arrested the promoter of the building that collapsed, Mohammad Wasim; one of the land owners, Pappu; and a labour contractor, Sheikh Rippon, in connection with the case.

One more landowner, who jointly owns the plot with the arrested two, is still allegedly at large.
