A team from the Special Task Force of the Bihar police arrested a man at a flat in southeast Kolkata’s Topsia in connection with a murder in Bihar.
The team picked up Rohit Yadav, 45, from a flat in Hinganj Zamadar Lane on Saturday evening. The murder case was registered by Rajnagar police station in Bihar a few months ago.
“It was learned that Yadav had bought a flat in Topsia a year ago and was staying here with his wife and daughter. His wife said Yadav dealt in land and she was unaware of his involvement in any crime,” said an officer at Topsia police station.
Officers in the Bihar police said Yadav had multiple criminal cases against him.
“Investigations have revealed that Rohit had masterminded the murder of Dipak Yadav, who was killed by a group of gunmen in Rajnagar. A case under various IPC sections was lodged against him,” an officer said.
