The Kolkata Metro Railway has decided to extend its services by one hour on Sundays from March 6 onwards.
Metro services will now begin at 9am instead of 10am on Sundays. The timings of the last trains remain unchanged.
Instead of 120 trains, the carrier will now run 128 trains on Sundays. Out of these 128 services, 124 will be run in between Kavi Subhas and Dakshineshwar.
Before the Covid-19 pandemic broke out in 2020, Metro used to run 124 services on Sundays. Now an additional 4 trains will be run on Sundays compared to the pre-Covid times, Metro authorities said in a notification.
East-west Metro services remain unchanged. Metro authorities have requested commuters to adhere to Covid protocol.
Significantly, Bengal logged 89 fresh Covid cases on Monday which was the lowest since the first wave.
The state government has announced an extension of the ongoing Covid curbs till March 15.
