Tokens will be back at Metro stations from Tuesday, the carrier said.
On Monday, a state government notification said Metro and local train services can operate with “75 per cent of seating capacity”. The previous cap was 50 per cent.
“From Tuesday, tokens will be available at all counters and vending machines,” said a Metro official. “We have made arrangements for frequent sanitisation of the tokens.”
“Tokens are being brought back on demands of passengers,” said Protyush Ghosh, deputy general manager, Metro Railway.
Tokens have been suspended since January 3 as an anti-Covid measure.
