Kolkata Traffic Police have posted a list of programmes that might affect the city traffic on Wednesday (5.4.2023)

  • 7am: Procession from 42 number bus stand Shiv temple and move along Dilip Math – Bondel flyover – Dr GS Bose Road – Bediadanga 1st Lane – Jahaj Bari – Lal Kothi More and will terminate at Sankat Mochan Mandir, 3 Dr GS Bose Road
  • 10am: Procession from Ramrajatala (West Bengal Police area) towards Shahid Minar, Matangini Hazra statue dharna mancha via Ramrajatala Station > Notun Rasta > Bankim Setu > Howrah Bridge > Shahid Minar
  • 2pm: Procession from Raja Subodh Mullick Square to Paribahan Bhawan, 12, R.N. Mukherjee Road via Ganesh Chandra Avenue
  • 3pm: Meeting in front of Aaykar (Income Tax) Bhawan, P-7, Chowringee Square, beside Paradise cinema
  • 5pm: Procession from Rani Sati Mandir, 8C Jogodyan Lane, Kolkata 54 and move along RK Samadi Road – APC Park – CIT Road – Suraksha – Phoolbagan PS – Motilal Basak Lane and terminate at place of origin

Kolkata Traffic Police have also issued a traffic notification in connection with IPL 2023 matches to be held at the Eden Gardens on April 6, 14, 23 and 29, and May 8, 11 and 20.

Arms haul

The special task force of Kolkata police, along with a team of Patna police, unearthed an arms-manufacturing unit inside a house in the Banka district of Bihar. The owner of the house has been identified as Dinesh Shah, 57.

According to the team members, they have seized several semi-finished improvised firearms, live cartridges, several pistol barrels and pistol springs. Four men and a woman were arrested. The owner of the house could not be found, the police said. The accused will be produced in a court in the Banka district of Bihar on Wednesday, the police said.
