Kolkata Traffic Police posted a list of programmes that might affect the city traffic on Wednesday (28.12.2022)
- 10.30am: Demonstration followed by deputation programme in front of Municipal Service Commission Office, 149, AJC Bose Road, Sealdah
- 12 noon: Colourful procession may be taken out from Kankurghachi crossing towards College Square, which may avail Vivekanda Road – Manicktala crossing – Raja Rammohan Roy Sarani – Mahatma Gandhi Road – College Street and terminate at College Square
- 2pm: Procession in front of Visva-Bharati publishing department, 6, AJC Bose Road and have a plan to organise a demonstration there
- 2pm: Street corner meeting will be held in front of Jatin Das Park, Hazra More
Rail traffic affected
Seven trains had to be diverted and two cancelled after a goods train jumped rails near Tankuppa railway station under Dhanbad railway division around 3.15am on Tuesday. The trains which ran on diverted routes include Howrah-Rishikesh Doon Express, Howrah-Kalka Mail, Howrah- Gandhidham Express, Howrah-Bikaner Express, Howrah-CST (Mumbai) Express, Sealdah -- Ajmer Superfast Express, Calcutta-Jammu Tawi Express and Sealdah- Anand Vihar Terminus (Delhi) Express and Puri- New Delhi Purushottam Express. Trains that had to be cancelled include, Dhanbad-Dehri-on-Sone Intercity and Asansol-Varanasi Express.
