Metro Railway upgrade
An upgrade in the Metro signalling system at Dum Dum station, carried out between Saturday night and the early hours of Sunday,will reduce the chance of glitches that disrupt services, said officials of the carrier.
“Metro Railway has successfully completed electronic interlocking work at Dum Dum on Sunday. This work involved modification of the existing electrical interlocking system to an electronic interlocking system,” the carrier said.
Interlocking means an arrangement of signals and points, operated from a panel, meant to prevent conflicting train movements.
