Goldsmith injured
A 29-year-old goldsmith suffered burns when a fire broke out in his workshop on the first floor of a two-storey building on Sashibhusan Dey Street on Saturday afternoon. Sourav Paul was admitted to the Calcutta Medical College and Hospital, police said.
Pedestrian hit
A 52-year-old pedestrian suffered multiple injuries after a light goods vehicle hit him on Alipore Park Road on Saturday afternoon. Asutosh Kumar Sharma was admitted to the trauma care unit of SSKM Hospital, police said.
Burn death
A 36-year-old woman died after she allegedly set herself on fire in Bansdroni's Sonali Park around 1am on Saturday, police said. Madhumita Katwal was declared dead at MR Bangur Hospital, the police said.
