Betting cuffs
Over a dozen men were arrested for allegedly placing bets and gambling online in Baguiati and Rajarhat on Saturday. A joint team from New Town police station and Bidhannagar commissionerate conducted multiple raids and made the arrests.
Nurse found dead
A 24-year-old nurse, Sushmita Giri, was found unconscious in her bed in a room on the first floor of a four-storey building in Jugi Para Lane of Rajabagan on Saturday. She was declared dead at a hospital. No suicide note was found, police said.
