Pedestrian injured
A 70-year-old pedestrian, Nageswar Singh, was injured when a private bus hit him on Vivekananda Road, near the Girish Park crossing, around 1.15pm on Saturday. Singh was admitted to Calcutta Medical College and Hospital. Police arrested the bus driver.
Car hits bike
A 23-year-old motorcyclist, Atanu Das, and his 26-year-old pillion rider, Abhishek Shaw, were injured when a car hit the two-wheeler on EM Bypass around 3.15am on Saturday. The 21-year-old driver, Ayush Sarder, was also injured. They were treated at a nearby hospital.
Truck on fire
A truck carrying LPG cylinders caught fire near a gas godown on Patuli Link Road around 11.40pm on Saturday. Three fire tenders doused the flames in 1.5 hours. No one was injured, police said.
