Rain on the cards
The city received more than one spell of rain since Friday night. A cyclonic circulation took shape over northwest Bay of Bengal and adjoining Bengal-Odisha coastline on Saturday, the Met office said. The monsoon trough is passing through Gangasagar and Digha into the Bay of Bengal, it said. "Under the influence of the two factors, there is an increased flow of southeasterly winds into the city and rest of south Bengal. The next couple of days are likely to be overcast and rainy," said a Met official. While East and West Midnapore and Jhargram may get heavy rain, Kolkata is likely to get light to moderate rainfall, he said.
