Kolkata Traffic Police have posted a list of programmes that might affect the city traffic on Saturday (4.3.2023).
- 7am: An awareness walkathon from Deshapriya Park destined to its place of origin via Sarat Bose Road, Southern Avenue, Lake View Road, etc
- 12 noon: Procession from Sealdah Railway Station complex and move along Vidyapati Setu and AJC Bose Road may reach Entally Market
- 5pm-10pm: Programme at Gopalnagar crossing (near the entry gate of Survey Building)
- 7.30pm: Hero ISL football match will be played at Vivekananda Yuba Bharati Krirangan, Salt Lake Stadium
Train to Puri
South Eastern Railway will run a special train between Kolkata (Chitpore)and Puri to cater to the rush of passengers. The train will leave Chitpore station on Sundays and reach Puri on Mondays through March.
The first train will leave Chitpore station at 11.40pm on March 5 and reach Puri at 9.35am the next day, a railway official said. From Puri, the train will leave at 3.50pm on Monday, March 6, and reach Chitpore at 2am the next day, said the official.
Hookah bars
Mayor Firhad Hakim said on Friday that he still stood by his assertion that hookah bars should not be allowed to operate in the city. A division bench of the high court on Wednesday had turned down an appeal by Kolkata Municipal Corporation against an order by a single-judge bench of the court barring police action against hookah bars.
