Property tax rate
There will be different tax rates for large housing complexes and standalone buildings, even if they are situated in the same neighbourhood, mayor Firhad Hakim said on Friday. Hakim said this when asked about Kolkata Municipal Corporation’s decision to revise various factors that lead to the final tax calculation of a property under the unit area system.
He said large housing complexes will be put in the “A” category, which attracts highest tax, even if they are located in a neighbourhood that does not come under the category.
