Kolkata Traffic Police have posted a list of programmes that might affect the city traffic on Saturday (22.10.2022).
- 2pm: Street-Corner meeting at College Street, Surya Sen Street
- 3.30pm: Procession at Jawaharlal Nehru Road, Mayo Road
4 days for Kali idol immersion
Kolkata police have set four days beginning October 25 for immersion of Kali idols. Idols have to be immersed by 4am on October 29. To facilitate the carrying of idols for immersion to different ghats along the Hooghly, the police have restricted the movement of heavy goods vehicles across most thoroughfares in the city on October 24 and on the immersion days.
Goods vehicles carrying essential items have been kept out of the purview of the restriction. Immersion will begin at 8am on October 25, police said, and end at 4am on October 29.
