Metro platform change
The majority of the Dakshineswar-bound trains from New Garia (Kavi Subhas) station will on Sunday leave from the platform meant for trains meant for trains reaching New Garia, said an official of the carrier. The terminal station and some other stations on the Metro corridor have crossover points, from where a train can change tracks.
The Sunday tweak has been forced by an “emergency repair job” at a signalling point at New Garia station, said the official. There are 130 trains on Sunday. “The number of trains or the frequency of the trains will not be affected. The first five trains headed to the north will leave from the usual platform. After that, the rest of the north-bound trains will leave from the platform meant for south-bound trains,” he said.
