Metro trains
Metro Railway will run eight additional trains on Saturdays from February 3 to March 29 for Madhyamik, Higher Secondary and Madrasah board examinees. The additional trains will take the Saturday trips to 242, up from the usual 234. Four of the additional trains will ply between 8.20am and 9am. Another four will ply between 1pm and 2pm, said an official.

Dhaval Jain took charge as the commissioner of the Kolkata Municipal Corporation on Friday. Binod Kumar, the previous commissioner, is now the principal secretary of minority affairs and madrasah education, and correctional administration departments. Jain was earlier the commissioner of the Howrah Municipal Corporation.

Talk to Mayor, the weekly phone-in programme where Calcuttans can lodge complaints with mayor Firhad Hakim, will not be held this week. It was scheduled to be held on Saturday but was called off on Friday.
