The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) has announced crucial updates regarding the seat matrix for the special stray vacancy round of the National Eligibility cum Entrance Examination Undergraduate (NEET UG) counselling 2024. As per a recent decision influenced by court rulings, two MBBS seats from the open category have been removed from the counselling process.
The excluded seats include one each from Lakshmi Narayana Institute of Medical Sciences, Puducherry, and Mahatma Gandhi Medical College, Pondicherry. These seats have been officially withdrawn from the matrix during the allotment process.
In contrast, the MCC has added several seats across MBBS, BDS, and BSc Nursing courses at notable institutions. New additions include seats at Symbiosis Medical College for Women, Pune; Government Medical College, Machilipatnam; Datta Meghe Medical College, Nagpur; and the College of Nursing, BHU Varanasi.
Eligible candidates participating in the special stray vacancy round can now fill in their choices for these newly added seats. However, those already allotted seats in the MCC NEET UG special stray vacancy round will be restricted from participating in the state level special stray vacancy round for UG counselling 2024.
