Kolkata Traffic Police have posted a list of programmes that might affect the city traffic on Friday (3.3.2023).

  • 5.30pm: Procession along Lenin Sarani, Moulali crossing, AJC Bose Road and Sealdah flyover
  • 5.30pm: Procession along Shyama Prasad Mukherjee Road and Rashbehari Avenue
  • 11pm: Religious procession along Gariahat Road, Ballygunge Phari, Ashutosh Chowdhury Avenue, Gurusaday Datta Road, Ballygunge Circular Road, AJC Bose Road, Exide crossing, Esplanade, NIS, Strand Road, Howrah Bridge

Traffic restrictions for Madhyamik Pariksha

  • A few traffic restrictions have been imposed for preventing danger, obstruction or inconvenience to the public in connection with the Madhyamik Examination 2023.
  • In a notice, Kolkata police commissioner Vineet Goyal stated that all classes of vehicles and all kinds of traffic, including pedestrian traffic for Kolkata shall be regulated in the manner prescribed below on February 23, 24, 25, 28 and March 1 to 4.
  • Movement of all types of goods vehicles shall be restricted to ply within the city of Kolkata (Kolkata Police jurisdiction) from 8am to 12 noon on all the above mentioned dates
  • Vehicular traffic may also be diverted/regulated/restricted in and around the centres of Secondary Examination (Madhyamik), 2023 as and when considered necessary by the traffic police on duty
  • These regulations will remain in force in addition to the other normal restrictions on those dates, which are not repugnant to above

Partha Chatterjee bail plea

A CBI court on Thursday rejected thebail petition of former state education minister Partha Chatterjee. Chatterjee’s judicial remand has been extended till March 16, CBI officers said.
