Winter special train
A special train will run between Kolkata (Chitpore) Terminal and New Jalpaiguri to ease the winter rush, said an official of Eastern Railway. The train will leave Chitpore station at 11.30pm on December 27 to reach New Jalpaiguriat 10.10am the next day. In the return direction, the train will leave New Jalpaiguri at noon on December 28 and reach Chitpore at 11.35pm the same day.
The train will stop at Naihati, Bandel, Katwa, Azimganj, Jangipur Road, Malda Town, Barsoi, Kishanganj and Aluabari Road stations. Booking will be available on and from Saturday through PRS and the Internet. “The tatkal quota will not be available,” the official said.
St Xavier’s College convocation
The 16th convocation-cum-valedictory function of St Xavier’s College, Kolkata, will be held on Saturday, January 14, 2023, at 11am. Sonajharia Minz, vice-chancellor, Sido Kanhu Murmu University, Dumka, will be the chief guest at the convocation, said principal Father Dominic Savio.
