Court allows sit-in
Justice Rajasekhar Mantha of Calcutta High Court on Thursday issued an order asking police to allow candidates who had cleared the 2014 Teachers’ Eligibility Test (TET) but did not get jobs in primary schools to hold a “peaceful sit-in demonstration” at the base of the Gandhi statue at Esplanade. The order followed a petition alleging that the police were not allowing the job-seekers to hold demonstration in the area.
