Metro Railway observed the birth anniversary of Dharti Aba Bhagwan Birsa Munda, freedom fighter and tribal leader on November 15. A special programme was organised to mark the occasion at Metro Rail Bhavan, which was inaugurated by HN Jaiswal, the additional general manager (AGM) and principal chief engineer (PCE) by lighting a traditional lamp.
Jaiswal and other senior officers offered garlands to the portrait of Bhagwan Birsa Munda to pay respect to the freedom fighter. In his address, Jaiswal highlighted the life and struggle of Dharti Aba Birsa Munda against the British rules.
KK Patro, the principal chief electrical engineer (PCEE) and Pramila Singh, chief personnel officer (CPO/IR), other officers, staff and members of All India Scheduled Caste & Scheduled Tribes Railway Employees’ Association ( Zonal Executive Committee) were also present in this programme in which a small film on Bhagwan Birsa Munda was also screened.
Besides, banners were displayed at all Metro Stations, hospitals and offices in order to observe Janjatiya Gaurav Divas on November 15.
