The agreement was signed by DTDC chairman Subhashish Chakraborty and Metro Railway’s deputy chief operations manager (commercial) Kaushik Mitra on behalf of their respective organisations last week.

The co-branding rights of the Sealdah Metro station, which is yet to become operational, is in line with Metro Railway’s consistent effort to increase its non-fare revenue.

“It is an appreciable initiative taken by Kolkata Metro Railway for enhancing non-fare revenue,” said Metro Railway general manager Arun Arora.

Metro Railway has offered 1,500 sq feet of space on the Sealdah Metro station premises to DTDC, which will also be allowed to add its name to the station name at all possible places of display.

Metro Railway Kolkata has earned Rs 19.45 crore as non-fare revenue in the financial year 2021-22.
