The Supreme Court on Thursday had ruled that Chhath puja will not be allowed at the Rabindra Sarobar Lake in south Kolkata, which is protected under the National Lake Conservation Plan. The Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) presented the prestigious Kartick Bose Lifetime Achievement award to six cricketers on its annual day on Saturday. The function was held after a gap of two years. While Uday Bhanu Banerjee and Gargi Banerjee won the award for the year 2019-20, Sambaran Banerjee received the honour for 2020-21. Ashok Malhotra and Mithu Mukherjee got the award for the 2021-22 season. Legendary seamer Jhulan Goswami and Richa Ghosh were given special awards. The awards were handed over by former BCCI chief, Sourav Ganguly and former cricketer Snehasish Ganguly and Abhishek Dalmia
